January 2010 CRCA Board Officer Election: The 2010 slate of officers is: President-Ed Hotham; Vice President-Sharon Crawford; Treasurer-Marge Walsh; Recording Secretary-Celeste Hardester; Correspondence Secretary-Don Simon; Chairperson-Jill Schnieder. Presentations: 441 Lyceum Avenue – current owner Andrew Lazur presented information regarding his application for a zoning variance. He seeks to change the current zoning of R-5 owner occupied with/commercial office into 2-apartments within same address. There would be two units; one 4-bedroom upstairs and the first floor would be a 3-bedroom unit. 429 Lyceum Avenue is for sale. A prospective buyer Gary Jonas was present at the meeting. He was going to present his proposal to the community, however, because of all the neighbor’s objections to Mr. Lazur’s property change, Mr. Jonas is recinding his proposal. No formal presentation for this property was made at this meeting. Zoning issues: 361 Lyceum Avenue’s zoning hearing is December 8, 2009 at 9:30 am.

CRCA General Membership Meeting
December 5, 2009
Jill Schneider called the meeting to order at approximately 7:40 p.m
Minutes: The November 2009 minutes were distributed read and approved with no changes.
Membership: The CRCA membership period is from 9/1/9 till 8/31/10. The newsletter contained renewal information; annual dues are $10.00 for individuals; $25.00 for businesses.
Jill explained that persons nominated needed to be members in good standing for at least two months as of today.
Nominations could be taken from the audience, there were none. Voting will occur at the beginning of the January 2010 CRCA General Meeting.
Most of the attendees at this meeting were concerned about the property and the possible change in zoning. Their main concern was how it would affect the future of Lyceum Avenue properties. In addition, the possible occupants of the units were of special concern to nearby neighbors. Parking was also a concern.
446 Green Lane hearing date is December 23, 2009 at 3:00 pm.

Other business: Parking illegally is a problem on nearly every street, especially in spaces at intersections. Cars are being parked very near the corners and it is hard to make a turn. Everyone was advised to call Philadelphia Police Community Relations Officer Charlie Kline. The phone number posted is 215-686-3050.
